Measuring Your Countertops
In order to create the perfect custom template for your new countertops, please follow the steps below to measure the area you currently have.
Draw a layout of your kitchen on a piece of paper. Draw the layout as if you are looking at it from above. Make sure you include the areas where backsplashes, island, bars, sink, refrigerator, and stove are located.
Use a tape measurer for measuring the counters in inches. Start from the outside edge and measure the length along the wall. Measure the width at the edge of the counter from the back to the front of the counters.
Add about 1 ½ “of overhang to the sides that do not border a wall, stove, or refrigerator.
Measure the backsplashes from the top of the counters to the top of the backsplash and draw the backsplash on the layout of your countertops.
After measuring your counters and drawing a layout, you may bring it to one of our sales associates so that they can calculate the total square footage of material that will be needed to do your project.
